NATURAL RESOURCES: SUSTAINABILITY AND EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT.

Innovation in Energy and Environment must start with proper sustainable management and exploitation of the available resources. In particular, given the geographical scope of the UCLM the sustainable use of water resources is essential. Previous experience away from this line have led Castilla-La Mancha, and other regions with enormous wealth in these kinds of resources, to a critical situation in which, in the case of Castilla-la Mancha, it will be attempted to be resolved with the implementation of the Alto Guadiana Special Plan (PEAG).This plan, whose results will certainly be applicable to other geographic locations, is an unprecedented effort to coordinate the rationalisation of water resource management, environmental improvement actions and even socio-economic measures to make feasible the recovery of Alto Guadiana ground waters.

In this RDPE proposes six performances as part of the Natural Resources and Sustainability, led by a research group of the UCLM that will enhance the interdisciplinary nature of research beyond the borders of UCLM, encouraging the mobility of the most talented researchers from different centers and national and international groups.
